Wood is a material that you can obtain from a tree, usually by chopping it down with an axe or punching it (in Minecraft). Many plants are made out of this material, particularly woody plants, which is just a tree since the only plant that produces wood are trees. Trees usually only pop up in boring, flat, and grassy lands, creating forests, so that those wood is more easily accesible, and so that those pieces of land aren't as boring. Because of this, wood can be found in most places except for deserts (you'll find sandstone instead).
Wood is pretty awesome since it is the foundation and structure of many things we know today.
Uses[]
As a material in building[]
People have mainly used wood as a material in buildings and homes. For example, entire homes are made out of wood! Same for floors, walls, etc.
As a material in furniture[]
The second most popular use for wood is in furniture, like chairs, tables, sofas, shelves, counters, microwaves, etc.
For paper and cardboard[]
Paper is used often for writings and stuff like that, and is made from crushed up trees and wood fibers. There is also cardboard, which is made up from paper and more wood.
Other uses[]
Wood has many other uses, such as stairs, some swords, other weapons, tools, toys, board games, electronics, fuel (as charcoal), etc.
Trivia[]
- Wood is usually brown, but is actually multicolored if you think about it. There are brown, red, beige, black, and white trees which produce wood of the same color.
- Some individuals are made out of wood, like Woody (object).
