Wiktionary is a website owned by Wikimedia that contains articles about all words from all languages. It is edited mainly by nerds who have memorized every Proto-Indo-European word, and consulted mainly by people looking for "unique" baby names.

When Wikipedia got started in 2001 by Jimbo Wales, people started making really short articles about words, e.g. dictionary entries. But Wikipedia was meant to be an encyclopedia, not a dictionary, so in 2002, Jimbo created Wiktionary.
