Taiwan is a country on a small island east of China. Before World War II, Japan owned Taiwan, and the current government of Taiwan was the government of China. But then, after WWII, the Allies forced Japan to give up Taiwan, and the island had no government for a while. But then Communists took over China, and the Chinese government (ROC) fled to Taiwan. However, they forgot to change their name from "Republic of China" to "Republic of Taiwan", so the PRC told the UnUnited Nations to not let them join, and told the International Olympic Committee to not let Taiwan participate in the Olympic Games. Taiwan wanted to be in the Olympics so badly, so ultimately, the IOC felt bad for them and let them into the games, but only if they made a fake country name, flag, and anthem. This is how Chinese Taipei was created.

You can help UnAnything Wiki by eating yourself and spitting lotsa spaghetti text. If this page is not dense enough, it'll probably just be small for the rest of eternity.
