- Not to be confused with the shitty version of Sonic 4.

Box Art
Sonic Mania, also known as Sonic the Hedgehog 4, is the true sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, whether you like it or not.
Shameplay[]
Sonic collects rings, smashes Badniks, avoids spikes and collects monitor powerups. When he jumps, he curls into a ball. At the end of the level, he fights either Dr. Eggman, one of the Hard Boiled Heavies, or somebody else. Instead of having an insta-shield like in Sonic 3, Sonic has a new move called the Drop Dash. Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray are also playable, with each of them having their own moves.
Plot[]
After the events of Sonic 3, both Sonic and Tails return to Angel Island. Sonic doesn't go super this time, since he doesn't want the Chaos Emeralds punched out of him again. Sonic finds a bunch Eggrobos stealing the Phantom Ruby from underneath the ground, which teleports everybody to Green Hill and transforms the Eggrobos in the Hard Boiled Heavies.
After fighting his way out some old zones and a few new zones, Sonic goes inside the Titanic Monarch and beats up Dr. Eggman, only for him to use the Phantom Ruby to teleport himself and Sonic into Egg Reverie. However, the Heavy King wants the Phantom Ruby for himself, so he betrays Dr. Eggman. However, Sonic turns super and beats up Dr. Eggman and the Heavy King at the same time.
Sonic then gets sucked inside a portal, gets sent to encore mode, goes to Titanic Monarch again, and beats up Dr. Eggman for real this time, ending the shame.
Reception[]
Sonic Mania, especially the plus version, was loved by everybody, and became the best Sonic shame in years. However, a bunch of n00bs think this shame sucks because it's nostalgia bait, but they are obviously wrong.
