A magnificence of engineering, the Sock Searcher Blocker is UnAnything’s official defense system and also a currently deployed unit in this sock war. Located in the large UnAnything garden, they’re mostly meant to protect the tulips and roses we’re going to grow in the spring. It was created in 2021 at the behest and guidance of Dee, who was one of the first to man it and test it out. Most of the time Dee mans it since he knows how to operate but the night shift is sometimes done by Scampton or Vesta.
Usually fitted with one or some ban hammer bayonet (for cosmetic reasons; we don’t actually use it as a bayonet), the Sock Searcher Blocker is a heavily fortified and rotatable glorified fortress with its 13 inch concrete walls lined with about an extra 2 sheets of waxed steel. It looks nice, and it does nice. Does it feel nice inside? Yes, it does.
Shooting out bans at a usual speed of around 950 per second, shortening the striker pin a little can bring the firerate to ~1300, enabling more efficiency since we bought way too many bans. This enables us to actively fire at intruders and guard the premises of UnAnything to let the users sleep. It provides some good background noise, too. Alongside it, there are 9 missiles manually reloaded by a specialized team of Standard Captains in around ~5 seconds. This allows for somewhat heavy automatic fire to allow active riot control in case of an “angry fan invasion” and or as a self defense measure to stave off any socks that manage to breach the outer gates of UnAnything Wiki.
In order to fire at any particular sock, the machine uses security cameras and uses a visual identification database to recognize anyone that isn’t a usual stay on UnAnything premises. It then brings up the user’s unique identity and known aliases and then evaluates whether or not it’s a sock; information is brought to the operator, who then uses human evaluation to decide whether or not to strike. This mostly helps when Dee forgets to close the damn gate…
History[]
- Main article: The Blocker
One of UnAnything’s most oldest relics, The Blocker is a personalized tool that is usually given to every UnAnything Admin and Bureaucrat when they join the team. Its history stretches out to early 2009, when Yoshikoopa utilized a prototype to BLOCK The Hater In Wikia. As the years went by, more features were added, until it became one of UnAnything’s most reliable weapons.
A major security hazard that the Blocker imposed was brought to light when Bill Gates managed to steal a Blocker that somehow hadn’t been deactivated, and proceeded to wrought hell upon UnAnything.
The Creation[]
It was one fateful day in 2022 when Dee was brandishing his Blocker, when suddenly the door was slammed so hard and jawed open that it shook Dee to his bone. A sock had managed to breach the gates, and Dee somehow forgot to lock the door. It suddenly lunged at him, then proceeded to wreck the lobby with his bodily liquids, and breaking Captain 0’s wonderful pottery class vases. It took 30 minutes for Dee alone to handle the situation.
In light of this situation, he decided enough had been done to justify an active Air, Sea and Sock defense system (or A.S.S) for short. He then realized that sounded ass when he said it out loud, so he renamed it to something like Super Smash Bros.
In order to bring the project to fruition, he funneled most if not all of the funds dedicated to the “UnAnything Language Wikis” division into his own savings account, instantly bankrupting the department whilst also providing enough money to fund the project. He then appointed UnAnything Inc. to help him in making the machine, which took around 3 months.
After it was finished and then soon after installed in the UnAnything Zen Garden™, a private test was conducted on the local mouse population which resulted in a major security and safety citation; thus, an annex was installed enabling remote missile launches.
To date, it has stopped around ~20 socks in their tracks, much to Vesta's annoyance, since he wants to be the one holding the record with his Stand [JUMP IN THE CAAC].
