I remember everything so clearly in my mind. The crowd roaring. Me, front and center for the first time in my life, singing my little teenage heart out to Call Me. Theo playing the drums, and Alvin on the guitar. It's so strange to see Alvin sober, even in a distant, burning memory
—Simon, in an interview with Biased Ratings
Simon Seville is the only surviving band member of pop-rock band The Chipmunks and the middle son of the Seville household. He is often very anxious and gets frequent flashbacks to his life as what felt like a rock star. The thoughts still haunt him day and night, his older brother leaping off of the stage, his younger brother laying on the floor, absolutely wasted on pain-killers. Sometimes, he sees the flames billowing up from the house, with everything he knew before going down with it. It's a ravenous world, after all, and the ceiling is very tall.
Nowadays, Simon has a solo career where he remixes old Chipmunk-era songs and slows them down to make them sound like normal human vocals. He thinks it sounds amazing, and he's pretty spot-on about it. Otherwise, he has a great relationship with another chipmunk named Jeanette. They go out on dates frequently and are often very chatty about their music careers. However, the guilt Simon feels still clings on to him, no matter where he goes. It haunts him, like a ghost that lurks in his deepest subconscious.
Simon is also terrified of death. Any memento mori he sees will send him into an instant panic attack. Even beings like Nightmarionne, who have a sort of air of death around their very existence, shakes Simon to his very core. He even dreams about it sometimes, finding himself lying on the ground in a black void of misery, with nobody around to help. He fears any prospect of his mortality, because he knows he's unnatural. Chipmunks aren't supposed to live 60 years, don't you know? Simon is dead convinced he'll be denied the right to go to Celebrity Heaven.
His most famous song is probably the 1980 cover of Call Me, which is one of the few songs he ever sung as the lead vocalist. The slowed version is better, though, which can be listened to here!
Childhood/Teenage Years
When Simon and his brothers were young, they had a talent for singing. Even if their voices were too squeaky for some people, they still sang like there was no tomorrow. It was to the point where their adoptive father, Dave, published a few compilation albums under the Chipmunks' name. These albums were basic, but they did take off, especially a song they once made for Christmas.
They performed at school dances as teens, where Simon first sang Call Me, watching the girls dance away. This was also when the three made their first independent album, in which they briefly renamed themselves to Alvin And The Chipmunks. This album is known as Chipmunk Punk, and was made up of various rock songs, covered in their signature squeakiness. However, soon after they produced this album, trouble emerged among the three brothers. Alvin became a drunk, and Theodore an addict. Simon was the only one still sober. This was merely the beginning of a storm that brewed up ahead.
Sludgefest '87
This tour still makes Simon paranoid when it's brought up by curious fans. Sludgefest was infamous for Alvin berating numerous people and nearly killing Theo by whacking him on the head with his guitar, which may have resulted in his death.
Simon may have sung "Like The Wind" during this tour at an unknown venue.
Trivia
- Simon is near-sighted in one eye and far-sighted in the other.
- Simon's favorite drink is milkshakes (reminds him of the good times).
- He is an affiliate of the Top Hat Mafia as a lookout, keeping an eye out for any rival gangs or anything appearing in the media.
- Despite his fear of death, him and Nightmarionne are on pretty good terms with each other.
- Simon's voice is significantly less squeaky, now that he's an adult (and maybe due to the alcohol, too, just a suspicion)
- Him and Delivery Boy Roy have a shared hobby: crying.
- Simon was once commissioned by Twiba to make a cover of Worm Surprises as a way to try and brainwash more people. He did, but the result was "horrendous" according to her (we assume it was a sludge metal-like song, which is Simon's modern style). The recording still hasn't been recovered.
- He's a certified Dweebenheimer
It's so wild that the Chipmunks ended up the way they did, with Simon being the only one who's alive now. Still, the slowed-down version of Call Me is absolutely fire.
