Saddening is an emotional experience used by Humans in events where they experience sad stuffs. It is one of the lesser forms of depression, and the opposite of Gladdening, the happy emotion. Other animals can feel Saddening too, like frogs, cats, and more. Even the robotic beings known as Reploids or AIs can experience Saddening, but not all of them can. You can experience something saddening right now by combining orange juice with toothpaste!
There is even a TV show about Saddening called Sadness Combat, which is a spin-off of Madness Combat.
Origins[]
Saddening was invented by Mario in 4.85301905 × 1011037 BC when he noticed SpongeBob SquarePants was being too happy. He didn't like how spongebob was happy, and decided to get Squidward Tentacles to make him say "Santa Claus.", a magical phrase foretold by the Enclosed Instruction Book that'd make anyone sad. It worked and this would be the first instance of Saddening in the UnWorld.
It'd then be rediscovered on accident by the ancient Santa Claus himself in... "very long ago BC" when he noticed his very own name turns people into innocent citizens of the United State of New Jersey. This was bad, and so he added a bunch of zero width spaces to his name with the help of the alphabet inventors. Nobody noticed this and told the UnAnything Team, and we've been keeping it a secret until now.
Saddening was also reinvented when emotions were invented, which didn't happen until wait, how old is the everything again? I'm sorry.
Use as an illegal weapon []
Saddening was weaponized by Junko Enoshima in the 2010s to make a killing shame called Danganronpa. In her killing shame she renamed saddening to despair because why not. Now you might be asking why it's illegal, and that's because the term Saddening was trademarked by Mario himself, and she had initially used the term saddening, got sued to death, and then had to change it to despair.
Cure[]
To get rid of Saddening, talk to Happycat, or go to your happy place, unless it doesn't exist.
Or, you can watch happy videos.
Useless facts[]
- It's unfunny.
- People are sad for many things.
- In OMORI the Shame, Saddening beats Gladdening, but is defeated by Maddening.
