Rambutans are edible fruits that grow on trees in the Sonic Islands and are covered in spines, and are cultivated within large factories in the glade.
The interior of this fruit looks like chapstick and the outside flesh is red and, as we said, spiny. They have been known to slip out of the grip of those claws in the second image, this will not cause a serious injury unless they happen to be as big as they are in the image.

Rambutans were created when the Sonic Islands weren't even colonised, the first Rambutan tree was made when Chuck Norris used his Roundhouse Kick on a tree, resulting in it becoming weird looking and making Rambutans that also were weird, then Sonic was born and a Rambutan got stuck in his spines, fell off and became a new Rambutan tree with spiny Rambutans.
As of now there is only one Rambutan tree that does not produce spiny Rambutans, this fabled tree is being preserved in a cell that makes it live forever as long as it's not cracked.
The fruit is creamy like icecream, but doesn't melt, making it perfect for parties. Snap off the harmful spines with your hands; the spines contain fruit, which you can consume with a seafood fork.
