Poseidon is a half-human half-fish guy who is also the brother of Zeus. He is considered one of the 13 members of the Twelve Olympians (it's complicated), the father of Triton, and the god of sea, storms, earthquakes and horses. He rules over the oceans, which is one of the three fractions of the UnWorld, the other two were given to his brothers Zeus and Hades. He is also a very big fan with woman, and has slept with alot of women.
Poseidon is the son of Kronos and Rhea. Of course, this was in the period when Kronos was hungry for children, so he ate Poseidon as soon as he was born. While Poseidon was in the stomach of Kronos, he evolved the tail of a fish, which allowed him to swim faster, and as such made him the perfect water god, which the Ancient Geeks worshiped so much water gods. The Zeus came and PWNed Kronos, releasing him from Kronos' stomach.
After all of that, he did a whole lot of stuff that the other gods of the geeks did. These include graping his sister Demeter by turning her into a horse, gave birth to Theseus and Percy Jackson, and is even the only Geek god to have an entry in Louie's Notes, which you will sea in a bit.
He also appears in some stupid Spongebob film.
While you cannot eat a god, his tail may fall off, which can be fried like a normal fish. Plus, it tastes good and it even makes you immortal!
