New Bubblun is a slime who replaced the original Bubblun (the Bubble Dragon) in a few early-to-mid 2000s Bubble Bobble shames. It was hired by Taito because the real Bubblun left them after the events of Super Puzzle Bobble. A homeless slime was all Taito could find for a replacement, so they made it shapeshift into a Bubble Dragon shape and renamed it New Bubblun. (This is why its colors are lighter than the original Bubblun, it can't replicate colors well while shapeshifting.)
Some idiots believe that New Bubblun is the key to finding out the truth about Mellono, but they are completely unrelated aside from superficial concepts and details.
Overview[]
New Bubblun first appeared in the 2003 Shame Boi Advance shame Bubble Bobble: Old & New, a disaster port of the original Bubble Bobble arcade shame that barely functioned. It mainly appeared in the "new" mode, which is identical to the "old" mode aside from worse graphics and annoying voice clips that barely sound like the real Bubblun, so everybody was pissed off. New Bubblun also appeared in the Japanese version of Dinner Blaster Advance as a secret Final Boss King Harkinian has to fight against.
New Bubblun last appeared in Puzzle Bobble Bash! as the main character, afterwards it was killed off by Square Enix once they bought out Taito.
Relationships[]
- New Bobblun is its brother, even though said brother is only a slime-half and not purely a slime.
- New Bubblun is said to be Prince Fluff's cousin, Fluff hasn't confirmed this, but he also denied being a slime before he was brought to Patch Land.
- Despite popular belief, Mellono isn't New Bubblun's father! Get your facts straight, Mellono isn't even known to be a slime.
- The original Bubblun hates New Bubblun, due to seemingly ruining the Bubble Dragon's reputation.
