Lamp oil is a special liquid created by Morshu. It ignites after touching fire. Morshu sells it as a fuel for lamps, but some guys (including himself) drink it. He sells it in his shop along with rope and bombs.
History[]
Morshu wanted to create a weapon to kill his archnemesis, Ushrom. He was developing a Doomsday Machine, but then he heard that Ushrom had survived a nuclear explosion, so he decided to burn him instead.
Lamp oil became a #2 hit in Morshu's shop. Some guys used it as an explosive, others as drink.

Uselessness in Shames[]
It is very useless in a practical situation in a Shame. You need to buy gallons of it just to light a room for thirty seconds. That is why many people consider it a scam. In the Zelda Shames, you need to keep accessing the inventory menu every ten seconds to reuse it.
Lamp oil has recently been redeemed in the shame Legend of Zelda: Link's Revenge where it is actually somewhat useful. Lamp oil in this shame can be used to poison Anybody, as well as use as an explosive to destroy anything that is made of cheese of stuff.
