A koopa is a species of turtle that is native to Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule. They can speak, but most pretend they can't, out of fear that the scientists will dissect them.
The koopa are led by the infamous Koopa King Bowser, the largest and most powerful Koopa in existence. They serve him out of fear, not respect, and they are always asking for a pay raise.
