Iris is an "experimental diplomat combination re-configuration type" Reploid from the UnUnited Kingdom, who was part of a group of "Maverick" militant forces known as Repliforce. Her life has been filled with tragedy and has twice led the un-world to ruin. Iris was initially constructed as part of an "Ultimate Soldier" vanity project, and physically is the closest to the original vision, but in terms of her finalized capabilities, she was the most basic (and smallest) compared to her juniors. As most Reploids were cold and unfeeling creatures, she was noteworthy as one of the first with true emotions after Mega Man X had been discovered. However, human dislike of Reploid sentience led to countless wars and massacres on the part of mankind, one of which targeted her own people. Worse, Mega Man X and friends were forced to go after them, even if most of what they did wasn't wrong. As the first Reploid able to feel Saddening, she was torn on what to do in this, before deciding it would be best to destroy both sides and cut her losses when her younger brother Colonel was "killed", going on a metallic rampage.
