The Beta Trolls, (or the Twelve Homestuck Trolls (that we know of at least)) are a group of heroic trolls who fight for justice and stuff. Each of them represents a Zodiac Sign; the members consist of (From sign 1 to sign 12): Aradia Megido (Aries), Tavros Nitram (Taurus), Sollux Captor (Gemini), Karkat Vantas (Cancer), Nepeta Leijon (Leo), Kanaya Maryam (Virgo), Terezi Pyrope (Libra), Vriska Serket (Scorpio), Equius Zahhak (Sagittarius), Gamzee Makara (Capricorn), Eridan Ampora (Aquarius), and Feferi Peixes (Pisces). They all represent a spaceology sign
Their leader is Karkat Vantas, who gave up his residing place for Thor, the God of Thunder and lived with Terezi Pyrope.
Two are formerly villains, those being Gamzee Makara (After being extremely drunk) and Eridan Ampora (After breaking up with Feferi Peixes for some reason), but they felt sympathetic about the other members; they also said they didn't even like being evil in the first place. The latter learned to moderate his feelings and know it's not all about himself while the former learned how to sober up.

The Cardinal Directions
As you just read, Libra represents the West, Capricorn represents the South, Aries represents the East, and Cancer represents the North. So that means that according to their Zodiac Signs, Terezi Pyrope represents the West, Gamzee Makara represents the South, Aradia Megido represents the East, and Karkat Vantas represents the North.
After that, they settled democracies in different countries. Terezi settled hers in Panama, Gamzee settled his in Peru, Aradia settled hers in China (It's no longer communist! Yay!), and Karkat settled his in Norway prior to giving it to Thor and living with Terezi.
Demise and resurrection
All twelve have been murdered by the Piraka; despite that Zaktan was the leader of said group, Thok's killing of Karkat Vantas was the most brutal. However, this didn't stop Pepsiman from using his Pepsi magic, along with the aid of Pepsi Convoy, to revive the trolls. One day later, the Trolls are attacked by Galvatron he had been sent out on. Just as he was about to finish off Nepeta Leijon, Dio Brando came in and fused with Galvatron, creating the abomination of Gigatron. Yay.
