Fall of the Guardians

Fall of the Guardians is a 2012 film by NightmareWorks Animation. This film tells about the origins of NightmareWorks Animation.

Plot[]

The film starts with the boy on the moon (as shown in the company's logo) saving Jack Frost's life and somehow granting the latter immortality. However over time Jack Frost becomes neglected and ignored in people's eyes since they think that he is a goblinish creature.

At the North Pole, Santa Claus senses that Pitch Black has returned to turn children's dreams into nightmares. So he calls his old allies, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and Sandman to join the fight. They realize that they still need one more person. By hook or crook, they appoint Jack to join the team. Originally, Jack refuses, but not long later agrees when Santa tells him that it is very important to stop Pitch from hypnotizing the UnWorld's children.

On their mission, the team meets a dentist, only to realize that he is actually Pitch in disguise. Pitch has pulled out the teeth from most of the children's mouths, and make them dance like Hacker's YouTube account profile pic. This also weakens Tooth Fairy's power massively. Meanwhile, Pitch also victimizes the children's parents on that they spoil their children too much on sweets that it leads to the latter losing their teeth. This also prevents the parents from buying chocolate and sweets to their children, also weakening Easter Bunny.

The underpowered team is now unable to defeat Pitch by any means. Jack then manages to escape to Antarctica, when he encounters Pitch, who forces him to tell the origins of his powers. From the story, Pitch knows about the boy on the moon and decides to found an organization to become an ultimate weapon for hypnotizing children's minds - NightmareWorks Animation - with that character imprinted on its logo as its mascot.

A boy named Jamie, who houses Papyrus the skeleton under his muscles, still strongly believes in the team, including now - Jack. Realizing that Jamie is the only person in the whole wide UnWorld whose confidence is still intact, an excited Jack rushes to him to let him see him, and asks him to join them. Jamie agrees, so he calls all his friends to join the team. This also restores Tooth Fairy and Eastery Bunny's powers. The combined team now overpowers Pitch, defeating him.

At the NightmareWorks Animation HQ, Jack Frost becomes its CEO and renames "NightmareWorks Animation" into "DreamWorks Animation" with the slogan "when the moon tells you something, believe it." The end.

In a mid-credits scene, a power-restored Pitch Black secretly creeps into Jack's house, murdering him once and for all. He then re-renamed "DreamWorks Animation" back to "NightmareWorks Animation" and returns his position as the company's CEO. Forever.

In a post-credits scene, Jamie and his elder brother, Ness, come across Jack's house, only to find the latter to be brutally killed, so they climb up to the volcano Mount Ebott and jump into its crater to sacrifice themselves. The two would later be reincarnated as Papyrus and Sans.

Reception[]

The film gained strange receptions which are mostly euphemistic versions of complaints, for example, one commented "OMG! This movie is SUPPOSED to be an ANIMATED film, but it's just TOO REALISTIC!!!"
