Contra Force is a Contra shame, and by far the worst one of them all. It is a spinoff game, meaning that it does not take place in the official Contra timeline. It was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 2008.

Characters[]

Contra Force

The cover of the shame itself. Note: It's called a "shame" for a reason.

Plot[]

Some random guys who have nothing to do with the ACTUAL Contra Force have to rescue their missing leader. The player can choose one of the four random guys to play as. The four random guys shoot their way through an army of enemies, who are allegedly holding their leader prisoner. The third random guy got abducted by aliens and you need to travel through Creepypasta forest to find Mr. Krabs to take the Dinner Blaster 3.0 that he stole from King Harkinian. But first you need to buy a Krabby Patty first. They then eventually died ending the game abruptly. SPOILER ALERT: He's not there, nor is he ever found in the story at all.

Shameplay[]

Like the original Contra, this one involves shooting. That, however, is where the similarities end. The power-ups from the original Contra are gone, and the player must rely on rubber bullets to shoot the bad guys down. The random guys can all jump, but their jumps are stiff and do not involve any cool backflips whatsoever. The player can summon another random guy, controlled by the CPU, to help him. However, since the CPU is programmed with Artificial Idiocy, it always shoots in the wrong direction. To add insult to injury, the helping guy disappears after five seconds. FIVE SECONDS. That's not even enough time for Wario to pick his nose! This madness continues for five levels, then ends abruptly with a forgettable final boss and a disappointing ending (see Plot).

Reception[]

This shame was bashed by critics everywhere, who were unhappy that something with the word "Contra" in it could be butchered so horribly. ISN gave it a 2/10, saying that it "lacked everything a Contra shame--or any shame, for that matter--should have". Squadala Ratings gave it a strong 0/10, criticizing its poor AI and poorly conceptualized shameplay. Biased Ratings gave it a 7/10, saying that "Hey, it may be awful, but at least it has guns!"
