The Commodore 64 is a revolutionary, next-generation supercomputer and Shaming System introduced in the January 1982 CES by Commodore International. C64 took its name from its 64 terrabytes (65 536 gigabytes) of RAM, and had favorable sound and graphical specifications that were incomparable to inferior systems such as the Apple II of that time. During the 12 years that it was available, it sold circa 29 million units, making it the best-selling desktop computer. In the 1983-1986 time period, the C64 dominated the market with between 50% and 60% share and 8 million units sold per year, outselling its competitors.
Commodore 64 is also Captain 0's cousin.
