The AU Machine itself. Like a King Crimson, it just works.
The AU Machine is a machine that generates Alternate UnUniverse versions of guys that're thrown in it. It is incredibly cringey evil as it is mostly used by Captain 1 to make corrupted, and evil versions of the good guys. Perhaps the most famous AUs it created are the ones associated with Undertale. Though that hasn't stopped the good guys from making things like a... (no please anything but this) Good Captain 1.
It's not known who originally made the AU machines, but some speculate it was Wario because "AU" stands for gold on the Periodic Table, and he often exploits multiple "money" universes like some sorta master of disguise. However, Wario isn't smart enough to make that connection and so it can't be him. It could have been Mario who made it instead. It could have been a French person, as "au machine" translates as "to the/at the machine". Maybe it means like "to the other realm" machine? But both words' genders don't match, so perhaps it might have been somebody else. It could be you, it could be, it could even have been an Australian!
How It Works[]
Like we know! If you give the magic portal some electricity, it goes BZZZZZT and then it becomes activated. Like the story of "is this your axe" with the pond spouting out a different version of whatever you throw inside, it gives you a random version of whatever you throw in with a label of where it's from, as well as the original. Now isn't that neat? Although, it's just fiction and nothing that comes out is ever actually real, thankfully.

Of course there's way more than these ones, but most the time these are where they're gonna come from:
- UnSwap - Basically swaps a guy with their opposite version, think of Goombas and Strollin' Stu switching places in Bowser Army, except it's actually Ganon's Army as Ganon now leads it. This is sometimes also referred to as the "UnMirrorverse"
- UnFell - Everyone is SUPER edgy for no reason. The only people who aren't edgy and are actually crybabies are weaklings like WaChuck Norris
- HorrorAnything - It's like Gorefield but for everyone. Fun fact: Gorefield is from here and has managed to still be corporeal by feeding of the fears of Jon.
- UnVerted Fate - The people from here are like the UnSwapians, except they retain being who they are as actual people.
- UnShift - UnShift is like UnSwap, but the pairs swap instead of the opposites.
- UnLust - (oh deer god oh no)
- UnDollars - Riches are plentiful with everyone being a wealthy version of themselves
- UnRank - People's unranks are inverted, and as a result Chuck Norris is treated like crap for inventing everything.
- UnDertale - UnDertale? What's an UnDertale? Hell if I know.
- UnWritten - Another version of UnSwap, except you swap guys from the even chapters with odd chapters whilst keeping the scenario. Not applicable to most things.
You can also combine them over and over again to get weirder abominations.
Destruction[]
The AU Machine was voted by the UnUnited Nations to be the biggest threat to life in the UnWorld, as super-powerful bad guys can show up for just a little bit and do a lotta damage. And in 1602, its was permanently destroyed to the dismay of everyone. Though, remnants of it still exist today and maybe one day, the gate will open again. This is very similar to what happened to the Field of Despair.
